Clarkesworld Magazine has accepted the short story “Aquatica” for publication. Words cannot adequately describe how giddy and honoured I feel to be part of this magazine’s excellent history of scifi short stories and essays. More details forthcoming when I have them!
In the meantime, here are four works I’ve recently enjoyed from Clarkesworld:
Helena Bell’s short story, “Robot“
Chesya Burke’s non-fiction essay, “Another Word: Super Duper Sexual Spiritual Black Woman: The New and Improved Magical Negro“
Daniel Abraham’s non-fiction essay, “Another Word: Plausibility and Truth“
Peter M. Ferenczi’s short story, “The Womb Factory“
And here‘s a link to the most recent issue, with stories by Genevieve Valentine (“A Bead of Jasper, Four Small Stones“), Theodora Goss (“England Under the White Witch“), and Yoon Ha Lee (“The Battle of Candle Arc“), along with two essays and an interview. Happy reading!
Great news! Congratulations!
Thank you for taking the time to reply! That’s very kind!
Good for you… especially as it’s about aquatics (I’m presuming this from the title), a rarish beast in SF…. hearty congratulations.
It is indeed! Thank you–I hope you enjoy it when it comes out!
That’s deserves seriously huge kudos. I often feel like the submission process hasn’t begun for me until I get my Clarkesworld rejection. I don’t know what the hell I’d actually do if I got an acceptance letter instead. Several backflips, I’m sure.
Congratulations!
Er, that.
Thanks, J W. I definitely know that feeling–to the point that I nearly suspected Neil was only holding this story to keep me from spamming Clarkesworld with anything else for a while. The strange places writers’ minds go to, no?
Anyway, best of luck to you with your own submissions! Fingers crossed that I can return the accolades soon!
